Nail Art Tools




There are wide ranges of tools used in the designing of nail. Tools may be used for making dots, drawing straight lines, for printing designs, tools for giving particular effects, etc. In my blog I have tried to mention and explain ones that I have used or the ones that are available for my nail arts.


Dotting tool:

This is a tool used for creating dots in a nail art. Dotting tool has ends shaped in a way that give a dot when colour is placed on nails. Each tool will have a pointed end of different sizes in order to create dots of different sizes. Please check the image for different dotting tools and dots created by them.

Nail Art Pens:

Nail art pens look like regular pens which are used for creating Free hand Nail art designs just the way we use regular pens. Now-a-days two in one pen cum polish are available with one end of the unit is a nail polish brush and the other end is a pen tip. Please check the image for Nail Art Pens currently available.

Nail Art Striping Tape:

These are tapes with self adhesives used for creating straight line designs themselves or thin lines can be drawn using these tapes and paints. They are available in different colours are thin in sizes for thinner lines and look similar to cello tapes. Please check the image for Nail Art Striping tapes.

Nail Art Brushes:

There are various brushes available that could be for creating nail arts patterns and free hand designs on nails. These brushes may be used as per one's design ideas. Please check the image for different Nail Art Brushes.

Nail Art Stamping plate, Stamper and Scraper:

Nail Stamping is a technique of Nail Art (Discussed in detail in Nail Art Techniques Section) where ready made designs can be transferred on nails. For this technique one requires a Nail Stamping Plate with self contained designs which can be transferred using special stamping polishes (thicker and more pigmented than the regular nail polishes). Scraper for removing extra stamping polishes around the design and a stamper for transferring the design from the plate to the nails. Please check the image for different Nail Art Stamping tools.

Sponge:

Sponge (Regular use sponges or makeup sponge) is used for creating shading effect for nails or for creating ombre nails (Discussed in detail in Nail Art Techniques Section). The technique can be combined with other techniques for more designs and effects. Please check the image for sponges.

Decals:

These are readymade decorations which can be used on regular nail polishes for enhancing the look of nails. These are available in different varieties like floral designs, fruits, smiley’s, animals, bows, water transfer decals, fimos (used for 3D nail decorations), rhinestones etc. Please check the image for some nail decals available.

Glitters:
  
Glitters that are regularly available can be used for creating glitter nails. Please check the image for glitters available.

Stencils and Vinyl’s:

This fantastic tool can be used for creating nail arts. Currently not available in India but can be purchased from many international sites. Nail vinyls and stencils are available is many shapes and sizes made of a particular plastic vinyl material. Most simple technique involved in its use; Apply base coat of your choice, place a self adhesive stencil or vinyl, apply coat of a different colour, now remove the stencil… Tadaaa!!!….. U have a fabulous Nail design… 


Nail Foils:

Nail foils are available which give beautiful holographic effect or predesigned foils can be used for Nail Art effect on nails. Glue for nail foils have to be used in order to stick these foils on the nails.

  2. I would like to know the best place/brand/site to buy these tools. Especially the stamper. I am aware that Amazon sells most of these products. But the stampers available in local markets are not good enough. Any ideas?
